Overall I was satisfied with my internship. I would recommend this internship to others that have time, money, or location restraints. I didn’t enjoy all the work I was doing, but it was very helpful information that will help me or someone else find future employment. I’ve learned many skills during the internship on how to find people that are in charge of the hiring in the sports industry and have gaine
d a much broader perspective of the numerous jobs on the market. As an older student this mentorship allowed me to continue on with my busy life while completing the 200 hours. Brett Cooper was very helpful and has offered me employment. I don’t know what kind of salary is included, but if nothing else I can pad my resume. Brett was almost always available for me when I needed him whether it was through a phone call or an email. Monday's a very busy days for him though so I never tried on that day.
At first I was not very pleased with my mentorship because for weeks I just did
the same thing. It was sometimes hard to get onto a computer knowing I had to do almost the same tasks for another 8 hours. I was given new tasks eventually and I enjoyed just doing new things and learning. I got more out of the internship than I expected. A large portion of my time doing the internship required me to find sports jobs, and the people that actually do the hiring, from all over the world. It was helpful for showing me just how many jobs are available in the sports industry and has given me ideas for future employment. This I feel is great knowledge and will be utilized by me long into the years to come.
I never really planned on working with computers for a living so my career
objectives have stayed the same. I want a job that I enjoy, working with people, and facing new challenges. I was thankful that I used the computer so much while I was getting my degree. It helped me with excel and working with the spreadsheets. I know that the thing I will take away from this internship experience that will add to my personal development is more respect and admiration for my father. He passed away several years ago but spent his whole life as a computer engineer at a nuclear power plant. I couldn't even think about doing that and doing a virtual internship has left me on the computer too much.
